A stay at Sandy Pines Campground is guaranteed family fun. In addition to being an RV and campsite, Sandy Pines offers some awesome glamping options including glamping tents, vintage trailers, conestoga wagons, domes and unique tiny houses. There are two styles of glamping tents, the family tents and the couple tents. The couple tents have a king bed, AC/heater, lighting, fire pit, bathroom amenities, linens, cooler, mini fridge and outdoor seating. The family tents have the same amenities as the couple tents, but have a king bed and two twin beds with two tents together, or you can have a king bed and one daybed or trundle. The other glamping options, like Airstreams, huts and wagons are only designed to sleep two and aren’t meant for families. They have the same amenities as the glamping tents, but only have a single king or queen bed. None of the glamping options have private bathrooms, but rather access to the shared bathhouses.
Onsite, the Grand Lodge is where you go for information or to get supplies at the general store and snack bar. For the kids there is a fun Kids’ Kamp with craft sessions and games. There is also a playground and a big grassy area with exciting lawn games like cornhole, ladder ball and volleyball. Additionally, there are always daily events happening at camp, like Sunday Bingo as well as weekend events, like Treasure Pines and Spooky Pines. While at Sandy Pines, cool off in the sparkling saltwater pool or take the 10 minute walk or bike ride to the gorgeous Goose Rocks Beach. You can even launch a kayak or paddleboard right from camp.

Located only 2.5 hours from Boston in the New Hampshire’s White Mountains, Huttopia offers wood and canvas glamping tents or big chalets for the ultimate family vacation. The glamping tents can sleep from two to five, depending one what tent you choose. The Trappeur Tent is located lakefront and is the biggest at 450 sq ft, sleeping up to five in two bedrooms with a queen bed, full bed and bunk beds and has a private bathroom, kitchenette and electricity. The Canadienne Tent also sleeps up to five in two bedrooms with the same sleeping arrangement and amenities, but does not have a private bathroom. The Bonaventure Tent is the smallest, sleeping up to two with one bed and has electricity and a mini-fridge. The Chalet sleeps up to six people in two bedrooms with a queen bed, two single beds and a sofa bed and has a private bathroom, kitchen, BBQ, electricity and heating.
At Huttopia you have access to Iona Lake from the camp’s private beach. Rentals are available if you would like to take out a paddleboard or canoe for the day. You can also reserve a fishing license in advance. For more ways to cool off, take a dip in the large outdoor pool or take the little kids to the paddle pool. During the summer, there are daily camp activities like live music, magic shows, movie nights, yoga and more. There is also a playground and kids’ club for the littles to stay busy with crafts, games and outdoor activities. Additionally, there are a ton of outdoor sports, like volleyball, basketball, foosball, baseball and much more.

Under Canvas Acadia

At this beautiful waterfront glamping site just outside of Acadia National Park, your family can experience tent glamping like never before. There are several glamping tent types to choose from that will fit your family’s needs. The Suite Tent with private bathroom sleeps up to four with a king bed and queen sofa bed and you can add up to one cot for an extra child or book an additional kids tent. The Cadillac Mountain Suite sleeps up to seven and has two private bathrooms, combining a Suite Tent with a Deluxe with three twin beds and you can still add an additional cot. The Stargazer has a private bathroom, sleeps two with a night viewing window above the king bed and you can add an additional cot. All tents can be combined with an additional kids’ tent for extra sleeping space.
At camp you can enjoy a variety of camp activities, like acoustic music, yoga, guided hikes, fireside chats, trivia, scavenger hunts, bingo, movie night, arts and crafts, s’mores, outdoor games and sports and more. You can also book an adventure package that includes activities like lobstering, sunset cruises, astronomy cruises, kayak tours and bioluminescent tours. Embers, Under Canvas Acadia’s onsite dining, serves up fresh locally sourced meals and offers great breakfast and dinner selections daily, including a kid’s menu with all their favorites.

Airstreams can sleep up to three adults or two adults and two kids with a queen bed and full sofa bed and has a kitchenette, private bathroom, television, heating and cooling, private patio with fire pit, grill and dining area. The Luxury Tent and the Accessible Tent sleep up to two adults and two kids with a King bed and sofa bed and have electricity, mini-fridge, heater and heated blanket, fire pit, grill and access to a shared bathhouse. For larger families, I recommend the Basecamp Mini Suite which combines an Airstream with a kids’ tent, so you have all the amenities of the airstream, but with two extra sleeping options in the kids’ tent. Lastly, they have these tiny house-like suites that can sleep up to four that have kitchenettes, private bathrooms and televisions.
Onsite, you can pick up supplies at the general store where they have ready-grill BBQ sets, snacks and more. There are also many camp activities, like acoustic music nights, yoga, morning meditation, story time, arts and crafts and campfire chats. Plus you are close to area attractions like Martha’s Vineyard, hiking trails, fishing, local restaurants and much more.

Maine Forest Yurts

Maine Forest Yurts is a family owned and operated yurt glamping experience great for families and pets. There are four styles of yurts. The Fisher Ridge and Hemlock Ridge Yurt is fully furnished with a double set of bunk beds and a futon, full kitchen, wood stove, gas stove, and composting toilet. The Zen Den and Hideaway have the same amenities, just one less set of bunk beds.
Located on Runaround Pond with two shallow ponds perfect for enjoying a nice kayak, canoe or paddle board ride while taking in the wildlife. You also have access to seasonal outdoor activities, like hiking, fishing, snowshoeing, ice-skating, skiing and more. Nearby, you can visit Bradbury Mountain State Park for outdoor adventures.
