Go on a luxury safari when you stay in an authentic safari glamping tent imported from Botswana at Safari West in Santa Rosa, California. These luxury glamping tents have private ensuite bathrooms, hardwood floors, luxurious beds, private deck with seating and electric lighting. There are 30 tents with various sleeping configurations to choose from, like king beds, queens and bunks which sleep up to four. For bigger groups and families, check out the cottages that can sleep up to six and also feature a kitchenette. 

What is awesome about these luxurious safari tents and cottages is that they are located on the Safari West animal reserve. This gives guest access to exotic wild animals from around the world. So you get to sleep with the sounds of the safari right outside your tent! The safari also includes continental breakfast at the Savannah Cafe. Kids stay free the second night Sundays through Thursdays during fall. Just about 60 miles from San Francisco, Safari West is the best of bay area glamping.

Auto Camp Russian River is a luxury glamping site located just five minutes from downtown Guerneville complete with luxury glamping tents and airstreams. Onsite, guests have access to complementary Linus bikes, a hammock grove among the Redwoods and freshwater pond. There is an onsite shop that provides ready-to-cook BBQ kits, s’more kits as well as lunch and snack options.

Classic Airstream Suite comes equipped with a private bathroom, kitchenette and luxury linens, towels and robes. The airstreams sleep three adults or two adults and two kids with a queen bed and a full-size sofa bed and offer private patios with a dining area and firepit. The Premium Airstream Suite has a prime location along the creek.

The Luxury Tents are canvas tents that sleep two guests only, including kids in a plush queen bed. The glamping tents come with basic cooking tools, electrical outlets, linens and towels, patio with lounge chairs and firepit with access to Clubhouse bathrooms. 

The Happier Campers are 42 foot retro sleeper campers that sleep one to two people. The Happier Camper has a private patio with firepit and seating area and access to the Clubhouse bathrooms. 

The Premium Accessible Suites sleep up to three adults or two adults and two kids with a queen bed and pull out sofa bed. The suites have a kitchenette, flat-screen television, accessible spa-style bathroom, a private outdoor dining space with a gas fire pit and a second fire pit with grill,  linens, towels and robes.

Mendocino Grove is a beautiful family-friendly glamping site in the Bay Area that offers luxury glamping tents to get you comfortably close to nature with activities the family will love. The Meadow Commons is where you can grab a morning cup of coffee or cocoa, play games, gather for campfires, participate in organized activities, relax on hammocks or enjoy access to wifi. You can keep it relaxed or choose to participate in the fun and games offered at Mendocino Grove. There are morning yoga classes, a loop trail, Big River with canoe rentals, horseshoe and bocce ball. 

At Mendocino Grove, the glamping tents are arranged into little tent neighborhoods of about 8 to 10 tents. The tents range in size from smaller Classic Tents that sleep up to two people to larger Family Tents and Group Tents that sleep up to six. There are four types of Classic Tents that sleep up to two people in comfy queen beds. The Easy Access Tents are located closest to the Meadow Commons, bathhouses and offer tent-side parking. The Standard Classic Tents are nestled in the woods while Classic Vista and Vista Plus Tents are located near the ocean and river with optimal views.

The Family Tents are grouped together near the Meadow, where kids can play and don’t include bluff views. The Family Tents include a queen bed as well as bunks for the kiddos. The Group Tents are intended for up to four adults and are separated from the Family Tents. All glamping tents have  limited electricity. All glampers have access to the two bathhouses that include indoor and outdoor hot showers, organic toiletries, large stalls for families and a dog wash.

Costanoa Resort is known as a coastal eco-adventure resort located on historical land, Punto de Ano Nuevo, founded in 1603. This area takes nature conservation very seriously and as a result, the flora and fauna thrive. Onsite you can enjoy a nice meal at Cascades Restaurant & Bar that features a seasonal menu with freshly harvested ingredients from nearby farms. The Pine Tent is a casual fast-dining option that has an open-air kitchen and bar, live music and fun activities. If you need something, not to worry, just pop by the General Store on the property for snacks, food, beverages, games, apparel and more. 

There are a variety of accommodation options at Costanoa. There are the 39 room North and South Lodges that feature luxury accommodations with either a king bed and sleeper sofa or two double beds as well as mini-fridges, coffee-makers and private bathrooms. The Cabins have a variety of sleeping options with some sleeping up to seven people, as well as a half bath or full bathrooms, private back deck, fireplaces, and kitchenettes. The Tent Bungalows are canvas glamping tents that sleep anywhere from two to six guests with queen beds and bunk beds to accommodation families. The tents include electricity, linens, towels, firepits, Adirondack chairs and picnic tables.

Wildhaven Sonoma is a highly rated glamping site in the Bay Area that offers safari-style glamping tents. Located in the heart of wine country, you are in close proximity to over 200 wineries, hiking trails and amazing dining. While staying at Wildhaven you have private access to a scenic stretch of the Russian River, three beaches, common outdoor areas, restrooms and cabin-style bathhouses and outdoor showers, outdoor communal kitchen and general store. Also, yoga classes, fireside wine tasting, bike rentals, live music, food trucks and more activities are coming soon to Wildhaven!

There are a variety of tent options for sleeping two to four people. In the single queen tents you are permitted two adults and two children, while in the double queen tents you can have up to four adults. You can add cots to the single queens for more comfortable sleeping arrangements.

The Riverside Cabins are more secluded than the main tent area and the Premium Tents offer a few more amenities. All tents come with linens, towels and electricity. Not all tents have fire pits, so be sure to check before booking.
