This adorable trailer motel is just what the glamper doctor ordered. Located in Joshua Tree, Hicksville was built by American writer Morgan Higby Night as a place for people to escape and relax. Hicksville is actually the first trailer motel in California, and it exudes the quaintness of trailer park living coupled with quirky themes of individual trailers inspired by the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. There are a some fun amenities to enjoy in this trail palace to make your stay an even more magical glamping experience, including a saltwater pool, rooftop hot tub, firepits, ping pong tables, archery, bb gun range,pinball, multicade, mini golf, corn hole, shuffleboard, ball pit, a library, a vape lounge, lounges spaces, vending machines, filtered water, charcoal bbq grill, kitchen/cooking supplies and a general store.
For trailers without a private bathroom, there is a communal shower room and toilet room. Most of the trailers sleep up to two people, but there are some that sleep up to three, four and six people. If you have a large group, Hicksville allows you to rent out multiple trailers and even the whole property if needed. Every trailer features a different and adorable theme. For example there is a gypsy themed trailer, a western pioneer themed trailer, a genie bottle themed trailer, a punk tiki themed trailer and a nautical yacht themed trailer, just to name a few. Be aware that Hicksville Trailer Palace is a 21 and over property most of the year, but they do have two family weeks during the year, one in April and one week in November so you can experience glamping with kids.

Featured on HGTV as the “ultimate glamping experience, The Castle House Estate sits on 8-acres blurring the lines of indoor and outdoor living. The entrance is marked with two adobe guard towers, which you can actually book a stay within that features a tower-top lounge. Onsite there are a number of campsites, tiny homes, trailers and yurt tents that each include its own fire pit. The property amenities include a small swimming pool, outdoor shower, and portable bathrooms. Located on five acres of desert property, Joshua’s Treehouses offer six accommodation options from yurts to tiny houses for the ultimate Joshua Tree glamping experience. Each yurt and tiny house sleeps up to two people and features beds, heaters, outdoor bathtubs, private firepits and outdoor lounge furniture. The Studio tiny house has its own private bathroom, but the other properties have shared bathroom facilities. For guests at Joshua’s Treehouses you can enjoy the communal kitchen, container pool and jacuzzi.

Lazy Sky is a boutique glamping site near Joshua Tree that features a collection of glamping tents, bell tent glamping and glamping teepees. The tents and teepees feature real beds, a yeti cooler for drinks and snacks Glampers share a communal kitchen with barbeque and communal outdoor bathroom with outdoor shower. The tents sleep up to two people, but there are no age restrictions and families are welcomed. This glamping site does not have an onsite pool, but they are close to Joshua Tree’s many hiking trails.
