5 Best Women’s Travel Vest for Safer Travel: Reviews and Buyer’s Guide

5 best travel vests for women and safer travel

For women travelers, especially solo travelers or moms with children, safety and security are always front and center in your mind. There are countless horror stories of lost or stolen luggage, documents, purses or other significant personal items during travel. Like everything else, there is no foolproof way to secure all of your items 100% of the time.

But there are steps you can take to protect yourself and your belongings when traveling through busy cities and transit areas, including keeping the items you treasure most close to vest, quite literally! It may not seem the most fashionable choice at first glance, but I think we can work with it ladies. Follow me to hear about the best women’s travel vest.

Introducing the Women’s Travel Vest

Yes, I am talking about investing in a women’s travel vest with hidden pockets for your most important documents and devices that you would be utterly lost without during travel. Most of the best travel vests are designed to be lightweight and ergonomic so you can easily grab items at the point of need without being weighed down.

Savvy travelers may even be able to ditch their purse entirely and rely upon the pockets provided by a well-designed, lightweight travel vest with pockets. For me, I like to wear yoga pants basically everywhere and as you know, yoga pants are comfortable but they never have pockets!

In fact, I’d say that most of my daily outfits have a curious lack of pockets altogether, so it is useful to have at least one piece to depend on that has ample pockets when my activities demand it. This may sound crazy, but I have even heard of moms leaving the diaper bag at home and packing baby essentials up in the pockets of a travel vest!

But most importantly, travel vests are designed for security. You have heard of lost luggage by an airline company or even purse grabbing, but have you ever heard of vest snatching? No, of course not – you and your travel vest are one single package. By simply using a women’s vest for travel, you can keep your passport safe and close to your body, as well as your phone, keys, wallet, jewelry, medicine and anything else of significance.

A Game-Changer

Ladies, a travel vest has the potential to be a real game-changer, and potentially a life-saver when you are out on the road. The easy part is deciding that a travel vest may be right for you. If you travel frequently through airports or train stations, or if you spend a lot of time visiting different cities by yourself or with your family, then you should strongly consider it. If you just think it would be awesome to open your vest and expose a world full of trinkets and gadgets, then you definitely need one!

The harder part is deciding which travel vest might be right for you to fit your own personal style and travel needs. Luckily, there are many great multi pocket vests designed specifically for women travelers including safari vests, utility vests, photographer vests, and hiking vests. They go by many different names, but all basically serve the same function. But true travel vests typically have 14, 24, or even up to 42 different sized multifunctional pockets, as well as other little extras like an inflatable travel pillow, RFID protection, or huge pockets for a tablet or computer.

3 Tips for choosing a travel vest

  1. Size up – if you plan to use your vest for long duration travel or airplane travel and want to replace your purse or carry on luggage, plan to get a size or two above your regular size. The fit will be less chic and may appear undesirably bulky for some, but it may be the only way to fit all your gear comfortably. Be sure to read reviews to get an idea of how much to size up.
  2. Pockets, pockets, pockets – what sets a travel vest apart from regular clothing is really the overall design with multiple pockets to hold a variety of travel items. You should consider which items you really will plan to carry on your person and make sure your travel vest has the requisite pocket space. On the flip side, if you don’t plan to carry a large tablet or water bottle, then you don’t need to sacrifice form-fitting style for a bulkier vest to accommodate these larger items.
  3. Don’t be tricked – into getting a vest with a few extra pockets and pass it off as a travel vest. Travel vests are designed to keep your items secure with zippers, organized with multiple sized pockets, and easy to access with everything right under your vest.

Best Travel Vest for Most Travelers

SCOTTeVEST Review: Women’s RFID Travel Vest

The SCOTTeVEST RFID Womens Travel Vest is a great choice that will fit most travelers. It has 18 different sized pockets to hold a vast variety of gear including several pocket types that are distinct for SCOTTeVEST products like the RFID pocket for protection of credit card information, the clear touch pocket so you can use your smartphone without having to remove it, and the oversized PadPocket which is large enough to hold an iPad or comparably sized tablet or computer. The fabric is treated with Teflon and made for durability and comfort. The fabric is breathable, machine washable, and resistant to wrinkles from stashing in your suitcase over night. SCOTTeVEST products are designed with travelers in mind, and they tend to employ an effective weight management system so the vest or jacket doesn’t get too unwieldy, even when filled with gear. The style is chic and straightforward and the curves will appeal to most users. Users also compliment the quality and durability of materials used to construct this vest, so it will be clearly something you can pack up for many travel adventures.

  • There are only two front pockets so most storage is inside

Best Travel Vest for Serious Travelers

SCOTTeVEST Review: Women’s Q.U.E.S.T Travel Vest

The SCOTTeVEST QUEST Travel Vest is the ultimate vest designed for the most avid traveler adventurers and photographers with 42, yes you read that right, 42 different pockets! Like the other SCOTTeVEST, this one has the patented PadPocket to store an iPad-sized tablet, clear touch pocket for visibility of smartphone when stored, and personal area network of cords running subtly through the fabric to keep everything connected and charging. The QUEST travel vest also has a hood stowed away in a zippered compartment and a giant back pocket to quickly stash larger items like photography gear. The fabric has Teflon and is designed for resistance to water, stains and wrinkles, because you never know what will happen out on the road. The sheer number of pockets will be too much for light travelers, but is unique on the market for its capacity and versatility.

Perfect for:

Any travel including photography and long distance or duration

Why you will love it:

  • Despite all the pockets, the design is rather appealing and not too bulky
  • Super high quality, durability and versatility to fit almost anyone’s needs

Room for improvement:

  • The number of pockets may be too much for everyday use
  • The style is less chic and more serious travel adventurer
  • The black outer fabric can attract lint or other little fuzzies
  • (and don’t forget to size up!)

Best Travel Vest on a Budget

Columbia Review: Women’s World Trekker Vest

The Columbia Women’s World Trekker Vest is the no-frills budget option designed for lighter travel, days out running errands, or going on a jog or hike. It only has two inside pockets, but they are decent sized and one is zippered and the other has velcro for a measure of security for travel documents, keys and phone. It does have 4 exterior pockets so you can actually pack a decent amount of gear into this travel vest. The outer fabric is not luxurious, but is well made and will get the job done. The omni-shield fabric is water repellant and the interior has a mesh lining. I wouldn’t give the Trekker vest the highest points for fashion-ability, but it is a good option at a lower price point.

Perfect for:

light travel, hiking, running errands

Why you will love it:

  • Price – this is the most affordable vest on the list
  • A comfortable option for everyday use with small gadgets

Room for improvement:

  • Outer pockets not ideal for security of phone or valuable items
  • Odd shape to fit for some women with larger chest and/or hips
  • Designed less for long travel and more for hiking or around town

Not a Vest but You'll Love it Anyways!

SCOTTeVEST Review: Chloe Glow Travel Jacket

No, strictly speaking, the SCOTTeVEST Chloe Glow Travel Jacket is not a vest, but it is a super cute travel jacket with hidden pockets that will perform all the same functions as the travel vests reviewed  above. This makes it more desirable for colder weather adventures, and the blend of cotton/polyester/spandex is designed for smooth, stretchy comfort anywhere you take it. I think it is very stylish and versatile and I would happily wear this sweatshirt around town without packing it up with any travel gear. But for the traveler, it is great to know that it has 18 different pockets including the customary SCOTTeVEST PadPocket for a full-size tablet. It has the patented personal area network to keep devices connected inside the fabric of the vest, as well as water bottle loop, key holder, earbud holder, change pocket, passport pocket and more. Users also report highly on the fit, design, quality of fabric and comfort in wearing this travel sweatshirt.

Perfect for:

Jogging, hiking, air travel, city travel, light travel, running errands

Why you will love it:

  • It has a hood and thumb holes in the sleeve for versatility on the go
  • Even loaded with items, the spandex design still gives a nice fit
  • The perfect clothing for the frequent jogger or hiker

Room for improvement:

  • Definitely runs small, so you need to size up at least one size
  • When filled with large items like iPad, it can fit a little odd and bulky
  • Pretty snug in the chest area, not designed for women with larger bust size

That’s a Wrap!

There are so many female travelers out there that haven’t even heard of a travel vest or they haven’t considered one because they associate them with safari vests or utility vests. But with today’s travel vests designed for women, you don’t really have to sacrifice style for function. Personally, I find it so useful to have a wardrobe item that can potentially replace my purse, or even my diaper bag in a pinch. It gives me comfort to think that my keys, passport, phone and devices will be secure and with me at all times while traveling to a new location. It is primarily for this reason that female solo travelers and family travelers should really think about investing in their first travel vest.

10 Best Diaper Backpacks for Dad: 2018 Buyer’s Guide and Reviews

Best Diaper Backpack for dad 2018 Buyers Guide

Let’s cut right to the chase. Most men don’t feel comfortable carrying colorfully patterned bags of any sort. You can tell them over and over again, “just please carry the bag” and explain that nobody is paying attention to the bedazzled straps or the glittery cheetah pattern, but you will get nowhere.

It is not a measure of how much they love you or the baby – it is instinctual, inevitable.

But here’s the thing. Almost every dad is perfectly willing and capable of carrying the baby’s heavy cargo around. In fact, dads want to prove how strong and reliable they are. You just have to involve them in the process of choosing the best backpack diaper bag that fits their sensibilities. Instead of a floral pattern, have you considered a black diaper bag, or even a camo diaper bag!?

Diaper Backpack for Dad that He will actually wear

First thing you should know if you want dad to carry the diaper bag is that he wants to carry it like a backpack. He has worn backpacks all his life, and still uses a backpack for the gym, or hunting, or hiking, or whatever. He just doesn’t like using a single strap because it feels like a purse – or worse, a murse.

man wearing a large backpack

Do you want dad to change more baby diapers when you are traveling?

Here is a guide on how to trick dad to be the primary diaper changer away from home:

First, help him select a diaper backpack that he likes and support his decision no matter what. Remember, he is going to be carrying this thing, not you (that’s the whole key).

Next, let him un-box it and go through all the little pockets and cubbies and hidden areas for storing things. Help him discover where the diapers might fit, the wipeys, the clean clothes, the dirty clothes, the passies, the formula, the toys, etc.

Try to be patient as HE discovers where certain items will fit, and then step back and let HIM pack it up the first time. It might look terrible, but whatever, let it be for now. Your goal here is to let him find his own organizational scheme that works for him.

man holding baby lovingly

Pretty soon, without him even realizing it, travel diaper duties will become dad’s domain. He will be carrying that manly diaper backpack, and when baby has a poopy diaper, you hand the baby off so he can carry that heavy thing organized in his distinct way to go get that diaper changed.

You don’t know where things are. It is a little too heavy for you and you need his strong back. It just looks so manly and handsome on him. Play all of these cards enough so that over time, he comes to accept that he is the man, the travel diaper changer, and he might even start to become pretty proud of himself for it!

This is obviously a little bit of fun, but I really think it will work for most people, so we created a shareable infographic so you can save it, pin it, and share it with your friends on social media. See if it works for you!?

How to choose the right diaper backpack?

Let’s consider what parents need in a good diaper bag? We need spacious compartments for storing large items like loads of diapers, extra clothes and formula. But we also need lots of small pockets to organize all the little things: pacifiers, baby wipes, toys, bibs, medicine, snacks, etc.

We also need comfort and convenience. We want to be able to grab that diaper and wiper stat when we got a big mess on our hands (sometimes literally!). We need comfortable shoulder straps and back support. We like little extras that make our lives just a little bit easier and more efficient.

Moms sitting in park with kids and diaper bags nearby

Finally, we need durability so we can depend on that zipper zipping and that stitching holding tight so there isn’t one more hassle to worry about while traveling. We would like a diaper bag that stands tall on its own in the stall without toppling over onto the bathroom floor.

In short, we need good design and good craftsmanship, and a little bit of style never hurts! Be careful searching online for diaper backpacks, because some sellers try to pass off extra large backpacks as “diaper bag backpacks”, when these products were not actually designed for that purpose. Such bags may work fine and fit your needs, but there is a reason that parents seek out diaper bags instead of large purses.

Editor's Choice: Best Overall Diaper Backpack

HSD Tactical Diaper Backpack Review

The High Speed Daddy HSD Tactical Diaper Bag Backpack is our choice for the best overall, combining exceptional build quality, design, durability, ergonomics, and manly military styling. Best of all, this company is Veteran Owned and Operated. It has all the features you expect in a great diaper backpack but they step it up a notch compared to much of the competition. Great shoulder and back padding for extreme comfort, the zippers and seams will hold up well to daily use, and the traction feet on the bottom help prevent abrasion of the fabric and help the tactical diaper backpack stand tall at all times. With the tactical military design, you can’t even tell it is a diaper bag, and it can be re-purposed once the munchkin grows to become a gym bag or hiking backpack. In our opinion, this is the ultimate diaper bag backpack that will appeal to most dads.

Why you will love it:

  • Extremely durable and functional all-around
  • Designed with a military mindset by veterans
  • Doesn’t look like a diaper bag AT ALL!

Room for improvement:

  • Wipe storage is not the easiest to access
  • Could use more compartments for organization

Editor's Choice: Best Value Diaper Backpack

KiddyCare Diaper Backpack Review

The KiddyCare Diaper Bag Backpack is our choice for the Best Value at it’s price point. What sets it apart is the fact that it is difficult to find any user that has any serious complaints about it! With smart design and light weight, this bag is good for mom to use on her own days out, but the styling will appeal to most dads as well. The clam shell opening allows easy access to the deep main pocket for all the big baby items, and there are 15 smaller pockets and compartments for smart organization. It also has one of the largest insulated pockets to hold up to three large baby bottles. The durable cloth is easy to wipe clean and the diaper backpack is built to last with a pretty sturdy frame. You really can’t go wrong with this one!

Why you will love it:

  • Unique design and styling will please mom and dad alike
  • Is built to make your life simpler and diaper changes easier
  • Will likely last the test of time for multiple babies

Room for improvement:

  • Very few customer complaints
  • Styling may be too feminine for some dads

Most Likely to be Used by Celebrity

DadGear Diaper Backpack Review

The DadGear Backpack Diaper Bag is the choice of Ashton Kutcher, and for some fans, that may be all you need to know! Joking aside, this is a very popular and highly-rated diaper backpack for a good reason. The styling is simplistic but super practical. It has an extra-large capacity and 13 easy access compartments. What we like most is the diaper hammock at the top allows for the most seamless diaper changes. No more hunting at the bottom of the bag, and you can easily tell when you are running low. It also unzips completely flat so you can see and access everything inside more efficiently. The narrow profile helps you to squeeze through tiny spaces, making it ideal for airport or travel in busy public transit areas. A very well-rounded and well-made diaper backpack that dad will have fun using.

Why you will love it:

  • Ashton Kutcher uses it too, apparently
  • Extra deep pockets to easily hold 2 bottles
  • Unique interior design features make it smarter than most

Room for improvement:

  • May be too large and heavy for some users
  • Construction quality is good, but not the best

Best Designer Diaper Backpack

Vera Bradley Diaper Backpack Review

Vera Bradley diaper bags are popular among moms for their iconic colors and patterns, but the Vera Bradley Diaper Backpack is styled in a way that dad will likely have no problems to wear it too. The exterior of this bag is exquisite, with an embroidered diamond stitch pattern on luxurious-to-touch fabric that is also machine washable and fade resistant. The backpack is lightweight, but also smaller than others on this list, making it good for mom but a bad choice if you have gear for more than one baby. There are not as many cubbies or pocket areas, but the main compartment is large enough to fit most things you will need it to fit.

Why you will love it:

  • You will love the rich and durable fabric exterior
  • The design and styling will allow re-use after baby grows
  • Is lightweight and straps are comfortable to wear

Room for improvement:

  • May be too small for multiple babies or long travel
  • Price is higher than others with comparable features

The Diaper Backpack Everyone Loves

Bag Nation Diaper Backpack Review

The Bag Nation Diaper Bag Backpack is a true crowd-pleaser that has an impeccable ratings history on major review sites. At publication, Amazon shows 4.8 stars with over 1200 reviews, with 96% recommending this diaper backpack with at least 4 stars. Bag Nation has created a super durable backpack with strong zippers, no-fray stitching, and water resistant polyester outer fabric. It comes with 14 different pockets to help with organization and a dedicated wipes pocket for quick access when things get out of hand. Finding items is basically a breeze with the many multi-size compartments. This diaper backpack is also large enough for multiple babies or long-distance travel.

Why you will love it:

  • You don’t have to worry about materials breaking or ripping
  • Lifetime warranty is honored with excellent customer support
  • So easy to use you might give it a name as it becomes your new best friend

Room for improvement:

  • Less stylish or cute design, but dad will probably like that
  • It is a little wide and bulky when filled with baby gear

The Diaper Backpack that Just Plain Works

Graco Gotham Diaper Backpack Review

The Graco Gotham Smart Organizer System Baby Diaper Bag Backpack gets the job done at a good price point. It has all the features you need in a baby diaper backpack including padded adjustable shoulder straps, large interior pocket with multiple smaller storage compartments, a side pocket for easy wipes access, and insulated bottle pocket. The design is simple and functional, but build quality leaves a little to be desired by comparison to some competitors.

Why you will love it:

  • Durable polyester exterior with dad-friendly style
  • Covers all the bases for diaper backpack funtionality

Room for improvement:

  • Insulated pocket holds just one bottle comfortably
  • Pockets are rather deep and narrow, hard to get at little odds and ends
  • Some users report issues with daily wear to straps, zippers, buckles, etc

Smallest Fashionable Diaper Backpack

Ju-Ju-Be Diaper Backpack Review

The JuJuBe Onyx Collection Be Right Back Backpack Diaper Bag is treated with Teflon on the outside to prevent stains, and Agion on the interior to prevent growth of odor causing bacteria. Now that is SMART DESIGN, and helpful! This backpack is one of the most comfortable to wear due to its smaller size, padded back panel with breathable mesh, and ergonomic softly padded shoulder straps. Even the baby will enjoy comfort with a memory foam changing pad included! As you would expect of a diaper bag backpag at the top of the price range, Ju Ju Be uses high quality fabrics and materials that will stand up well to daily use. The Be Right Back diaper backpack also has a special “mommy pocket” with soft lining for sunglasses, wallet, keys, whatever you need it for.

Why you will love it:

  • Fashionable but it won’t scare dad away from using it
  • Maximum comfort to carry on long travel trips
  • Super easy to wipe clean or machine wash to keep smelling fresh

Room for improvement:

  • Not large enough for more than one child
  • You get more bang for your buck from some competitors

The Diaper Backpack for Jeep Lovers

Jeep Diaper Backpack Review

The Jeep Perfect Pockets Baby Diaper Bag Backpack is well-styled and will get the job done…it just isn’t quite as dependable as an actual Jeep. Many users complain of the zippers breaking early and often, making this one a potential hassle while traveling. Nonetheless, this backpack features 12 roomy pockets including insulated side bottle pockets, as well as a spacious main compartment for larger baby items. It includes a hard baby wipes case and a gray changing pad.

Why you will love it:

  • It says Jeep on it, in case dad happens to be in love with his Jeep
  • Great features for the low price

Room for improvement:

  • High durability concerns with fabric, stitching, zippers
  • The bottle pockets are not deep enough for larger baby bottles

Good Diaper Backpack on a Budget

Fisher Price Backpack Review

The Fisher Price Fastfinder Backpack Diaper Bag is really nothing special above the competition, but it does everything pretty well for the price. It does include a so-called “Fastfinder” system that allows you to organize things and find them more quickly. It comes with a changing pad, a case to hold the wipes, plastic feet on the bottom to help the back stand on its own, insulated bottle pockets, and padded shoulder straps. Overall, this is a good backpack for a decent price.

Why you will love it:

  • Dad-friendly neutral styling with smart design
  • Has everything you basically need in a diaper backpack

Room for improvement:

  • Some users complain of broken straps, zippers and seams with everyday use
  • Not a large diaper bag, so limited to one child and shorter excursions

Really Just Another Diaper Backpack

Skip Hop Duo Backpack Review

The Skip Hop Duo Signature Carry All Diaper Bag Backpack has a basic style that should please dad, and ample room to carry all the baby essentials. It has 9 different pockets for organization, a d-ring on the outside to hold toys or pacifiers, and a cushioned changing pad. The fabric is durable and liquid resistant, making it rather easy to clean. In terms of quality and design, there is nothing about this backpack that makes it stand out from the crowd, and you can probably find better value on this list.

Why you will love it:

  • It looks like a typical backpack more than a diaper bag
  • It has nice outer fabric that will stand up to spills and usage

Room for improvement:

  • Many users complain of broken zippers and stitching with normal use
  • Front heavy design means it may tip over when filled with baby gear

That’s a Wrap!

If you are looking for a diaper backpack for dad, you really can’t go wrong with any of the diaper bag backpacks on this list. We recommend buying from a Veteran-owned company and getting the HSD Tactical Diaper Backpack, which is also one of the most durable and functional choices overall according to our research.

If you plan to travel often with your child outside the home, then I think a diaper backpack is a must-have. And if you involve dad in the process of choosing and organizing the backpack, then I expect that he will start to take on more diaper duties when you are out-and-about, which is good for everybody!

Best Travel System Strollers: 2018 Buyer’s Guide and Reviews

Header Image Best Travel System

If you are like me, then you don’t let a baby slow you down! In fact, the whole point of our blog is to show families that you can travel with babies, kids, teenagers, grandparents – whatever, and still have a great time.

What is most important is that you are together, bonding through adventure. I am not going to lie, it isn’t always a walk in the park! But luckily, there are innovative travel-related products and gadgets that can help make traveling with babies and kids a whole lot easier.

Let me introduce you to one of my favorites: the travel system stroller. At the end of this article, you will understand everything you need to make a smart, well-informed decision if you are planning to buy a new stroller system. Here are the best travel system strollers for 2018.

What is a travel system?

A baby travel system is basically a stroller that is designed to work with a detachable baby car seat. The benefit of using a travel system is the convenience of seamlessly transporting your little one from the car to the stroller and vice versa, without having to wake or bother them.

Most babies are pretty temperamental (mine included!), so keeping them happy in their car seat during these transition periods can be a life-saver during your travels or even while zipping around town running errands.

You can buy the car seat and a compatible travel system stroller separately, or you can buy them together in a package, generally for the best value. If you want a specific car seat and stroller from different brands, you can also do that, because in most cases you can just buy an extender.

Just be careful and do your research to make sure the extender is designed to work with your exact model.

Who would need one?

This is an easy one! If you don’t have a baby, then you don’t need a travel system. But seriously, I am guessing you are reading this because you already have a baby or a baby on the way, or you plan to purchase a travel system as an epic baby shower gift.

In this case, a baby travel system may be right for you. In my experience, the main reason to get a travel system is because you plan to frequently leave the house with your baby in tow, whether it’s to do shopping, errands, local trips, or longer-term destination-based travel.

If you would rather carry your munchkin in a pouch all the time, all the power to you, there are various baby carriers that will help you get that job done.

But regardless, to go anywhere safely with your baby you will need an infant car seat anyways, and if you are out of the house more than a few hours, you will also want a stroller for naptime. Why not have a car seat and stroller that work together for those moments you just want to pop the seat in the car, fold up and go!?

Different types of baby travel systems

If you made it this far, you have likely made the decision to consider buying a travel system for your baby. There are a few important things to think about when shopping for a new travel system, including how you plan to use it and how many children you plan to accompany you?

Stroller vs. jogger travel system

If you need a system for a single child and plan to use it practically for travel or to venture around town, then you should opt for the standard travel system “stroller”. The majority of travel systems on the market are of the stroller variety.

On the other hand, if you lead a particularly active lifestyle that includes wanting to take your baby on a jog or run, then you might consider the jogger travel system. My sister is more of the baby-jogger type, and she has tried out her fair share of jogging strollers, and some definitely work better than others.

The jogging stroller travel system is designed for higher speeds and maneuverability, and is more appropriate for different types of terrain. Like the stroller travel systems, the jogger travel systems have the convenience of allowing you to drop the car seat into place with a click.

Moms jogging with babies

Single vs. double travel system

If you are lucky enough to have the need to whisk two little infants around simultaneously (likely if you had twins. Congrats!), then double travel system strollers are also available and, in my opinion, they are a must-have.

It is hard enough to handle a single infant, so I know that moms with multiple babies can benefit from every little bit of extra help and convenience.

Double travel system strollers are naturally larger than single systems to accommodate two children, and some are hybrid systems with a section for clicking the car seat and the other section designed for an older sibling to sit in a normal reclining seat.

How to choose the best travel system for your baby?

Let’s face it, the marketplace for baby products is saturated with manufacturers and can be very confusing. I know, I have been there and done that – thrice. I get stressed out at the thought of stepping foot in a Babies”R”Us. Thank you, Amazon! Still for all the convenience of shopping online, there are still just too many darn choices! That is why we decided to make this Buyer’s Guide, to help you sift through all the noise and focus on what matters most.

Important features to consider

Anyhow, to choose the best travel system for your baby and your lifestyle, it is important to consider certain features that help to distinguish different strollers systems from one another. In approximate order of importance, we recommend that you consider the following:

Because keeping your baby safe is the most important thing in the world!

  • Functionality

Is it lightweight, easy to use, and fit your individual needs?

  • Craftsmanship

Does it have a reputation for being durable and well-designed?

Do you get a good bang-for-your-buck compared to similar products?

Quality of fabric, materials, storage, cup holders, style, flexibility, etc.

Baby travel system brands & pricing

There are so many different brands that make travel system strollers of various types. Some companies are better known for durability and craftsmanship, while others are known for keeping the cost in check.

In this guide, we did extensive research to bring you the best-of-the-best, taking into consideration all 5 critical feature categories.

Because prices fluctuate over time, you will want to click the “Check Price” links to see if the current price has dropped (on Amazon).

Detailed Reviews

Best Value

Graco Modes 3 Lite Review

The Graco Modes 3 Lite Travel System may be a mouthful to say, but it is also full of practical features at a budget-friendly price. Navigation is eased by a single swivel front wheel and it covers all the bases: canopy, cup holders, decent storage basket, well-functioning brakes, and easy ability to fold for storage and travel. Lacks the dependability of more expensive travel systems, but it is more than adequate at this price point.

Why you will love it:

  • Easy to navigate with 3-wheeled design
  • Large canopy and soft padding for comfortable strolling
  • Includes dual cup holder plus good storage

Room for improvement:

  • Lack of durable quality for basic things: buckles, buttons, fabric, etc
  • Has lots of features, but they don’t always work seamlessly
  • The wheels are plastic and may lack durability over time and use

Most Functional

Evenflo Pivot Modular Review

The Evenflo Pivot Modular travel system is portable and practical for everyday use, and also includes six distinct modes of travel use. You can use it in pram-style carriage mode, infant mode with baby car seat, or toddler stroller mode. Amazingly, each of these modes is reversible to be parent facing or forward facing as well. Evenflo is known for extensive quality and safety testing, so you can have that assurance that your child will be comfortable and protected using this car seat and travel system.

Why you will love it:

  • Extreme flexibility in traveling modes, adapting to diverse needs
  • Soft tires provide a smooth baby ride and gliding maneuverability
  • Ergonomically well designed for practical no-fuss everyday use
  • Sturdy and relatively lightweight stroller frame

Room for improvement:

  • The wheels may get stuck and functionality reduced as child grows
  • The base of the stroller is a bit too wide to fit through some doors
  • Sleek design but no cup holders for baby or mommy

Most Dependable

Chicco Bravo Trio Review

The key to a buying from a larger brand like Chicco is dependability, and the Chicco Bravo Trio delivers a travel system that you can depend on for longer than most other travel systems. It is designed to be adaptive to the change size and needs of your child, even as a toddler up to 50lbs, so this system can follow them from birth to grade school. Has a solid record for safety and quality to stand the test of time.

Why you will love it:

  • Designed to adapt well to needs of growing children up to 50 lbs
  • Extra large storage basket and canopy for sun protection
  • Great collapsible design that stands well on its own after fold
  • Car seat is easy to install and use without a manual

Room for improvement:

  • No baby tray for holding snacks and drinks
  • Relatively poorer maneuverability compared to others
  • A bit heavier than other similar strollers

Most Stylish

gb Lyfe Review

The gb Lyfe Travel system is unique due to its flexibility with 4 distinct modes of use, including forward-facing and parent-facing pram mode with full-recline so you can stroll around town with elegant European style. Speaking of style, it also comes in a fun Merlot color and is designed to stand out from the crowd – in a good way.

Why you will love it:

  • Lightweight and easy to fold and store
  • Easy and fun to navigate with one hand
  • Comfortable and allows full-recline naps
  • Large basket underneath for storing items

Room for improvement:

The Baby Trend Expedition Jogger presents many positive features, including large wheels on a sturdy frame for seamless maneuverability and a very smooth ride, which is important for little ones travelling at higher speeds in this jogger. It has good safety features and quality for the price, with a few added bonuses like a drink tray for baby and mommy, highly adjustable seats/buckles/canopy/etc, and ease of use.

Why you will love it:

Room for improvement:

  • Durability comes with a cost – stroller is heavier than others
  • Underneath storage basket is not very large

The Baby Trend Sit N Stand is a high quality double stroller that is comfortable and spacious, and it has the flexibility in design to fit any combination of up to 2 infants and/or toddlers. Double strollers are notoriously heavy and difficult to navigate, but this one is a breeze and has the ability to turn on a dime. • Easy navigation for a double, and folds quite easily too
