How to Make These Easy Christmas Cocktails

The holidays are among us! Chances are, you are busy running around Christmas shopping and attending many holiday cocktail parties. You may even be hosting a couple yourself! Holiday cheer is not complete without some awesome holiday cocktails and that’s you are in need of HotMama’s Easy Christmas Cocktails.

I love getting into the Christmas spirit and, for me, that means sipping on a Christmas cocktail. Like most of us, I’m running around like a crazy person during the holiday season. So, I like to take a time-out from the hustle and bustle. One way I do this is with my family cocktail hour at home, where I mix up some easy Christmas cocktails and mocktails for the whole family to enjoy. Hey, kids need holiday cheer too!

I also love to be out and about during the holidays and that means spending a lot of time in restaurants and bars, enjoying their seasonal holiday cocktails. Bartenders and mixologists love to let their creativity shine with fascinating holiday cocktail recipes, making the holidays an exciting time to hit the bar!

So, let’s get the holiday cocktail parties started! Not only will I be sharing these holiday cocktail recipes in this post, I will also be sharing a couple of my favorite bars that are serving up some of the best Christmas cocktails!

The first Christmas cocktail on my list is the Chocolate Covered Cherry Cocktail. I love it, because it is super easy to make, well-balanced and delicious.

Chocolate Covered Cherry Cocktail

1 ½ oz of Chocolate Liqueur
1 oz Cherry Vodka
1 oz Half and Half
Sour Black Cherries
Bitter Dark Chocolate

Add the Chocolate Liqueur, Cherry Vodka and Half and Half to shaker with ice. Shake vigorously then strain into coupe glass. Garnish with Sour Black Cherries and grated Bitter Dark Chocolate.

Chocolate Covered Cherry Mocktail

2 oz Chocolate Milk
1 oz Grenadine
Sour Black Cherries or Maraschino Cherries
Bitter Dark Chocolate

Shake all liquids with ice and strain into plastic coupe glass. Garnish with your choice of cherries (kids love the maraschino cherries) and grate dark chocolate on top.

The next couple of Christmas cocktails come straight out of my favorite vacation destination, Las Vegas. This town is perfect for visiting any time of year, but the holidays are extra exciting as the bartenders are working hard to bring you the best Christmas cocktails.

Cinn City Santa

1 ½ oz Kilo Kai Spiced Rum
¾ oz Velvet Falernum
¾ oz Giffard Orgeat
½ oz Crandberry Puree
½ oz Lime Juice
2 dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters

Shake all ingredients together with ice, strain into bucket glass and fill with ice. Garnish with sliced almonds, which bring out the Orgeat and a cinnamon stick. If you don’t have all these ingredients readily available at home, like the Velvet Falernum (spiced-citrus-sweet syrup), you can find this sinfully delicious holiday cocktail at the RHUMBAR, located in The Mirage (one of my favorite hotels in Las Vegas). Read more, HERE.

Silly City Santa Mocktail

1 ½ oz Spiced Apple Cider
1oz Ginger Beer (similar spice to Velvet Falernum)
1oz Almond Syrup
½ oz Cranberry Puree or Juice
½ oz Lime Juice
Sliced Almonds
Cinnamon Stick

Add all liquid ingredients, except Ginger Beer, to shaker with ice. Shake and strain into plastic bucket glass, fill with ice and top with Ginger Beer. Garnish with Cinnamon Stick and Sliced Almonds.

Shake all ingredients with ice. Rim martini glass with crushed candy cane and swirl glass with white chocolate, before straining shaken cocktail and garnishing with mint. This easy Christmas cocktail is fairly simple to make at home, but it is even better served at TREVI Italian Restaurant in The Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace.

Happy Hollytini Weenie Mocktail

2 oz of Chocolate Milk
1 oz Vanilla Creamer
½ oz Almond Syrup
½ oz Peppermint Syrup
1 oz Coffee (decaf for kids)

Rim plastic martini glass with Crushed Candy Cane and swirl some chocolate syrup in glass. Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into garnished martini glass.

Easy Christmas Cocktails

This next Christmas cocktail is one of my favorite holiday cocktails, because it is so supper simple and yummy. The Cranberry Mule is sure to be a hit at your holiday cocktail parties!

Cranberry Mule

2 oz Vodka
½ oz Lime Juice
Equal parts Ginger Beer and Cranberry Juice
Mint leaf and Lime Wheel

Get a copper mug and pour in your Vodka and Lime Juice. Add a tiny bit of ice and stir. Add equal counts of Ginger Beer and Cranberry. I count to 3 for each pour. Fill with crushed ice and garnish with Mint leaf and Lime Wheel. This cocktail was created at Anaheim Hills’ local favorite, Rosine’s Mediterranean Grill. They use Fever Tree Ginger, making this holiday cocktail extra delicious.

Cranberry Mule Mocktail

Equal parte Ginger Beer and Cranberry Juice
½ oz Lime Juice
Mint Leaf and Lime Wheel

Pour all ingredients into copper mug and add crushed ice. Stir it up and garnish with Mint and Lime Wheel. My kids LOVE this mocktail and love the simple ingredients. Talk about easy Christmas cocktails!

Easy Christmas Cocktails

Although some get to experience a tropical climate, for many of us the holidays mean cold and blistery weather, requiring something hot to sip on to warm your bones. That’s why I’m wrapping things up with this cozy Christmas cocktail.

Hot Brick Toddy

2 oz Bourbon Whiskey
1 tsp Butter
1 Sugar Cube (1 tsp Sugar)
3 pinches Cinnamon
Boiling Hot Water

In a festive mug add the butter, sugar and cinnamon. Splash some boiling hot water to dissolve the butter and sugar. Add the whiskey and fill with hot water. If handy, stir with a cinnamon stick. I had a cute candy cane stirrer, so that’s what I used. This is one of my favorite holiday cocktail recipes, because it is so easy, warm and aromatic. It is also perfect if you have the sniffles.

Hot Brick Toddy Mocktail

1 tsp Butter
1 Sugar Cube
3 pinches Cinnamon
Boiling Hot Water

Same process as above, just opt out the whiskey. Also, if you have cinnamon tea on hand, that makes a great substitute. My kids love hot tea, but add the creamy richness of the butter and the festive scent of cinnamon and you got some cheerful children.

Ha, I particularly like the Hollytini Mocktail, it looks delightful! We made spiked eggnog last night, but am considering whipping up one of these for the day itself.
